-Tell me a little about yourself. Age, where you from, etc
My birth name is Jonas Cordell Nelson. My age 26 born 3-3-85 at Saint Francis Hospital. I was raised in Hartford, Connecticut my whole life.I come from Asylum Hill. I grew up on Huntington St.(Hunt Zone) I’m Black/Panamanian and I wasn’t born with a silver spoon. I come from the bottom and my craft makes it evident. I’m ambitious,self-driven and always on the come up. I’m a loving father of 1. Jaonnie Caliyah Nelson and I got a story to tell. I always wanted to rap but that was secondary. I put the streets first. That’s where I perfected my hustle. Unfortunately the street life landed me in a (F.C.I.) Federal Correctional Institution serving 5 yr.That was Nov.18, 2005. That’s where I perfected my craft. I was released July 28, 2009 from The Halfway House and its been popping ever since!
-When did you first start with what you do? Describe the environment.
I knew how to rap since my early teen years. I embraced hip hop as a child. I’m a say 2002 when I first recorded my 1st. official song. The experience was fresh and I was open-minded ready to learn.
-Who are your inspirations?
First & foremost God but far as this music shit go Jadakiss, Jay Z, 50, Biggie & Snoop. The everyday struggle alone that I face all the inspiration I need to make it pop. That’s where it all come from.
-What kind of music do you listen to now in days?
I like Drake right now far as mainstream artist. I can listen to Jada for the rest of my life though. I’m on that Prodigy H.n.i.c. right now hard body. I like all the classic. These new guy don’t move me. I fucks with 2 chainz, Jeezy, A mafia, Jim Jones and French Montana too.
-Where would you most like to perform?
Memorial Weekend South Beach, Florida, Madison Square Garden and XL Center of course that’s home court advantage.
-Who would you most like to open for?
Young Jeezy and that’s its!!! That shit a be Crazy!!!
-If you weren’t rapping, what would you be doing?
I be in somebody town, boro or strip tryna eat! Maybe I would’ve been court side with Lebron James.
-Do you play any instruments?
I got something that sound like a drum roll.. lol
-If you could expand into another genre of music, what would it be?
R & B, I just wanna ghost write though. If I could sing it’ll be popping!
-How did you get started?
Me and my childhood friend decided to put the drugs down & pick up microphones. My co defendant Gun Danero was already established. He alongside others like Sal Pachino, Funkwyld, Black Dime, Notey Extra, Colie and more had Hunt Zone Ent. He influence me and I kept writing. While I was incarcerated they put out a mixtape called Get It In. I had one solo joint on there and featured on 6 others.I got so much feedback I realized that was my lane. So I stayed in it ever since.
-What do you think about when your preforming?
Keeping eye contact with the crowd.
-What else can we expect from you in the future?
You can expect more videos, interviews, magazine articles and mixtapes.
-Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV?
Yupp! I performed with French Montana in L.I NY,with A mafia in Hartford, Connecticut, Live radio shows, and more.
